Grove House Stables equestrian centre has been established for nearly thirty years providing recreational and career training for equestrian and other rural occupations. It has always believed in giving individuals and groups the opportunity to share this corner of North Nottinghamshire and the animals, wildlife, and nature in this environment. I-Pegsaus CIC (not for profit) continues this vision and to give more groups and individuals this chance. I-Pegasus CIC consists of; An official pony club approved centre – Grove House Stables Pony Club Centre is approved member of this international voluntary youth organisation for young people interested in ponies and riding. Individuals can use one of the equestrian centre ponies or bring their own. – The equestrian centre is a Riding for the disabled accessibility mark approved. Grovewood Riding club is proud to be a part of the organisation providing training, competitions, and social events for riders from novice to advance. A large part of I- Pegasus’s work in education and alternative education outside mainstream using equine facilitated intervention. I- Pegasus activity club uses the facilitates at the centre to reach out to various groups in the community.

A KEITS Traineeship is an education and training programme with work experience for up to of 10 weeks. It focuses on giving young people the skills and experience that employers are looking for. Traineeships help unlock great potential and give work preparation training.

This Traineeship opportunity is UNPAID Work Experience as part of an entry to work course for those aged from 16 up to 19 years old who are unemployed and not in education.

You will complete work experience 2 – 4 days a week and complete ½ a day remote learning.

You will be working towards an Entry 3/Level 1 Qualification - Developing Skills in the Land based Industry.

Tasks will include:

  • Mucking out
  • Feeding
  • Grooming Horses
  • Handling and leading horses

This Traineeship work experience is part of an education and training programme that is focused on giving young people the skills and experience that employers are looking for. At its core is the Work Preparation training, English and maths for those who need it, and a high quality work experience placement.

Traineeships help unlock your great potential and give you the work preparation training, maths, English, Digital Skills and work experience needed to get an Apprenticeship or other job.

This Traineeship opportunity is unwaged, but you may be given expenses for things like travel and meals.

Training to be provided

This Traineeship opportunity includes work preparation training, Functional Skills maths and English support for those who require it and a high quality work experience placement.

You will complete work experience 2 – 4 days a week and complete ½ a day remote learning.

You will be training towards an Entry 3/Level 1 Qualification - Developing Skills in the Land based Industry which will include the following units:

  • Health and Safety in an Animal Care Workplace
  • Working in Animal Care
  • Caring for Animals: Feeding and Grooming
  • Cleaning & Maintaining Animal Accommodation
  • Applying for a job
  • Conduct at work
  • Making the most of work placement
  • Listen and Respond
  • Making Calculations

Future prospects

On successful completion of the programme you will receive a certificate of completion and an employer reference as a minimum, to support future job applications.

There may be opportunities to progress into an apprenticeship or employment with training or further education.

If paid positions are available, you will have the opportunity to apply for these positions.
