We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual looking to develop their skills in Horse Care. You will work alongside our current team handling and caring for our competition horses. You will also help with various youngsters and their training and help in the shop advising customers on safety wear and fitting of equipment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, hard-working team.  Within the role the successful candidate will be working toward a Work-Based Level 2 Diploma in Horse Care and may have the opportunity to progress to an Advanced Apprenticeship in Horse Care (Work-Based Level 3 Equine Care and Management)

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated Apprentice who is looking to further their knowledge and skills.  The successful candidate will work alongside our current team handling and caring for our horses.  Working with professional people, the training will give a good foundation to go on and work in any sphere of equestrian.

A high standard of care and attention to detail will be expected to maintain the company image we pride ourselves on.

Yard Duties will include:

  • Turning out and bringing in
  • Mucking out
  • Feeding, watering and haying
  • Grooming
  • Clipping and trimming
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the yard at all times
  • Bandaging
  • Tacking up
  • Lunging/long reign
  • Riding

Shop duties will include:

  • Dealing with customers
  • Putting stock out
  • Computer work
  • Updating website
  • Dealing with wholesalers
  • Product training

Desired skills

  • Must be able to work alone at times and as part of a team
  • Applicants must have had some experience of handling horses and show this on application

Personal qualities

  • Friendly

  • Organised

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE's in maths and English or equivalent grades are desired
  • Applicants must not already hold a level 2 or higher in Horse Care
