KSB Equestrian stables are located on the outskirts of the West Sussex village of Rudgwick. The yard consists of 12 large stables measuring approx. 12ft x 12ft. The yard is a successfully run family business run on a day to day basis by Kyle Bedford and assisted by Julie and Kevin Bedford. Facilities include: American style barn containing the stables Large arena - approx. 20 x 40 - with full set of show jumps. Wash bay 10 acres of fields with electric fencing Individual and/or group turn-out Feed room and hay barn Small kitchen and seating area with tea/coffee making facilities Secured tack room Day and night monitoring by on site residents Hacking available both on and off site 24-hour CCTV Running this small, family business allows us to tailor a bespoke package both horses, riders, owners, and livery clients. Training on site everyday / when required.
We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated Apprentice who is looking to further their knowledge and skills. The successful candidate will work alongside our current team handling and caring for our competition horses. Working with professional people, the training will give a good foundation to go on and work in any sphere of equestrian.
A high standard of care and attention to detail will be expected to maintain the company image we pride ourselves on.
Yard Duties will include:
- Turning out and bringing in
- Mucking out
- Feeding, watering, and haying
- Grooming
- Clipping and trimming
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the yard at all times
- Bandaging
- Tacking up
- Lunging/long rein
- Riding
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, hard-working team. Within the role the successful candidate will be working toward a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Horse Care with further training and employment available for the right candidate.
Desired skills

Desired qualifications
GCSE’s or equivalent in maths and English are desired.
Applicants MUST NOT already hold a level 2 or higher in Horse Care.
